Rating: - * stopped working after 3 months ... Bought this on July 14th and it has stopped working as of October 14th. Why are are the laptops so good yet the adapters are unreliable? The OEM Toshiba adapter was bad too. Rating: - * Lap top HP use with intermitent conexion ... I bougth this universal notebook power supply for use in a notebook HP pavilion Entertainment PC. Unfortunately the adaptor for the computer does not seem to fit well since it tend to disconect at a minimun of motion. To make things worse, sometimes I leave the computer converting a video and hours later I find that all the battery charge has being consumed y the machine has turned off making useless the DVD that I hab being burning. I don't trust this universal power, at least for use in a notebook HP. Sergio Sarita Rating: - * it works.... without frills ... I got this as an extra adapter for my laptop. I was a little worried about plugging it into my precious computer when it came in the mail.i t worked fine, but the case feels cheap, and so do the adapters (little things that plug into the computer itself). they don't really clip in or anything, you just literally shove the two little prongs on the opposite side of the adapter into the little holes on the end of the dc side of the adapter. the fit is tight enough to keep it in i suppose, but still... feels a bit flimsy. i cant knock this product too much though, since it works and all, but just know that if you want something that feels like it can take some abuse, shell out a little more cash. if you just need an extra adapter to stay stationary at a desk and you don't care how friggin big the thing is, then this works just fine 3 stars for functionality, 0 for construction quality Rating: - * It works, so I'm happy. ... I bought this AC adapter because it is supposed to work with many brands and models of laptops (universal) and it was one of the more inexpensive ones. It arrived in a box with the adapter, cords, 8 tiny locking things (to keep the voltage from accidentally changing after you set it), and 8 adapter head/cap things (locks and caps in re-sealable plastic bags). I set the voltage based on the specs of my old adapter, and selected the head/cap that looked like mine. It attached securely. I plugged in the adapter and my computer, and it worked. Pros: universal (although I haven't actually tried it with another computer, I assume that those head/caps work as well), inexpensive, safe (you can't accidentally change the voltage) Cons: bigger than I expected (it's kind of beast and a pain to carry around), little pieces that could potentially be lost if you're disorganized It meets my particular needs reasonably well, so I am satisfied overall. |
