With a complete set of high performance features and expandable functionality, the Uniden TRU9488 offers a full set of convenient options for busy homes. Call Waiting Caller ID includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent 100-station speed dial. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. Redial any of the last three numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent, clear 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission.

This set includes one corded handset and one cordless handset with a separate charger; the system is expandable to a total of ten (additional cordless models available separately). You can transfer incoming calls between each handset, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). A page button lets you quickly locate the cordless handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions.

Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). Rating: - * good sound, poor service ... I bought one of these a year ago, and added several handsets. The sound quality is good. The number buttons are soft and attract dirt, and you have to keep cleaning them. However, this last week the main base phone failed for no reason. After repeated attempts to reach customer service, and no response from Uniden, I am trashing the entire setup. They have one of those endless on-hold numbers; and email with no response. Won't buy this brand again. Rating: - * Uniden corded/cordless combo ... I am very pleased with the performance of this phone. It was very easy to set up and use. I needed a combination of corded base phone with one handset. This model filled my requirements perfectly. I like the fact that it has the capacity to add another handset at a later time. My old phone had a problem with the speaker when it was taken off the wall and put on a table. The speaker on this phone is an improvement according to the person on the other end. Rating: - * Description a \"bit\" misleading ... Note that the Desk Phone does NOT have a headset option. And neither of my existing Plantronics sets are compatible. Back it goes. Rating: - * Office Phone ... I like the way it lights up when I have a message. The sound is clear and works well for me. It has good volume control. I wanted a corded phone in my office. Problems include: Confusing to use. I have to refer to the manual often. If it is the only phone you use it would be fine. If you change to several other phones it's difficult to remember how it works. I would look longer before I bought this item again. Rating: - * Huge disappointment ... This phone at first promised to be exactly what I was looking for: a corded base unit that would work in a power outage with a satellite cordless handset for mobility when I needed it. Over the past year I've had two cordless phones burn out in power surges (despite being on surge protectors) due to stormy weather, and I wanted something that would hold up. The first problem I noticed was an odd sound when I spoke into the mouthpiece, but I thought I could live with it. After just a month of using this phone, I am about to send it back and hopefully get a refund. For no apparent reason, the audio just quit -- no sound comes through the receiver of the base or the cordless unit. The answering machine picks up but does not take messages. I've been trying to deal with Uniden's customer service with with no success. I feel gypped and would NOT recommend this phone to anyone. I just hope the company honors their warranty.
