The Uniden TRU9466 is thoughtfully designed for small businesses or homes that find two separate phone lines to be one of life's necessities. The system is expandable to include a total of 10 handsets with charging cradles (available separately). This TRU9466 base system includes one handset, and is the only one of the expandable system that requires connection to a phone jack. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset and the base speakerphone, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. Redial any of the last three dialed numbers at the touch of a button, activate five-way conference calls or just enjoy the consistent, clear 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission. You can transfer incoming calls between the handset and base, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). A page button lets you quickly locate a handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions. The base is wall mountable or sits sturdily on a countertop, supplying you plenty of display options; a total of 20 different ring tones (10 tones, 10 melodies) give you a variety of choices. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * More intuitive than Panasonic, but has range issues ...
I bought the Uniden TRU9466 2-line to replace my older Panasonic KX-TG6500 2-line. The reason was because my Panasonic would only allow up to three extra handsets plus the base station (4 total) which isn't enough.

The Uniden I bought allows up to 9 handsets plus base station (10 total). The Uniden also has a more intuitive phone book feature (you can access a person's name faster), and it has a one-button speed dial for up to 10 people which the Panasonic doesn't have. It also allows you to page all other stations simultaneously -- the Panasonic forces you to page one at a time.

However, the Panasonic had exceptional range. My base station sits in between my laptop and my desktop computers, with a 3rd computer nearby (and pretty soon a fourth), and an 802.11n wireless network hub about two feet away. The Panasonic had no problem with this at all. I could hear clearly on all handsets, even outside. The Uniden, however, not so good with the range. The base is in the same location, and the handsets in the same room or down the hall work okay, but downstairs the handsets have an irregular static noise, like what you might hear if you rubbed the microphone across your hair. Sometimes it goes away, but when you first start talking on the phone it's hard to hear anyone. If you walk upstairs the signal gets better.

The only way to solve this is put a separate Uniden base station downstairs and register the downstairs handsets to that. But I wish it had the range and clarity that the Panasonic did.

This Uniden model does not have a built-in answering machine; whereas the Panasonic did. I do not want an answering machine, and do not want to pay for the hardware, so this was good. I use my computer to answer the phone (PhoneValet on the Mac), which sends the voicemail as an email with a sound file attachment, and allows me to design "push 1 for so-and-so, push 2 for so-and-so."

Except for the range problem the Uniden is a beautiful little phone, and very well designed programatically. Registering a handset has never been easier. Just place the unregistered handset in the base for a few seconds, it beeps, your done.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * Plug it in and it works ...
I purchased this Uniden 2-line cordless to use with a VOIP system to replace my antiquated office phone system. I added 2 additional extension handsets. In initial testing of the system, I did find that at the extremes of distance from the base within my office there was a hair of static interference but not an intolerable amount. The feature set fulfills all of my needs. In two weeks of implementation, I have had no problems with this system.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Works well with two line VOIP providers ...
I have viatalk and their two line voip and never know which line will be ringing in and made it a problem. So I found this phone system and after reviewing the reviews and specs I decided on it. It was a good decision as it works perfectly well with the voip and never have to worry about what line is calling just pick up the phone and answer or dial even if someone is on the other line. I am totally satisfied.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - * Durability Issues ...
We have a problem with the disk in the middle no longer working on 3 of our 6 phones-which makes this phone semi-useless.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great for modern day. ...
I was looking for a 2-line cordless for about 3 weeks. Everything at CC and BB was way overpriced and all of them included an answering system. In today's modern times an answering system is out of date. Besides, I did not want an answering system on my business line (line2 in our home) so that our kids could not accidently turn it on and create a mild disaster.

Once I received the Uniden unit setup was a breeze and the features all seem very well thought out.

My only disappointment was my inability to use the handsets at my neighbor's home directly across the street, about 75 feet away.

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
