An accessory handset for Uniden's TRU9 series, TRU8 series, CLX series, Elite series, and the UIP18 series phone systems, the TCX905 offers the same excellent range of functions you appreciate in the base. Once the handset is recognized by the system, you can review features like Call Waiting Caller ID, which includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent 10-station speed dial. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor.

You can transfer incoming calls between each handset and speakerphone on the base, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). A page button lets you quickly locate the handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions. Redial any of the last three called numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent clarity of the 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission.

This handset requires the use of a compatible Uniden T9, ELT or VIP series phone. Most systems in the series are expandable up to a total of four handsets. Uniden provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

Rating: - * Uniden TCX905 Cordless Phone ...
I bought this phone as an extention of 3 that I had already had. I really like this phone set. I like the range of these phones and the display. Real good phones.

Rating: - * Poor Quality ...
Poor clarity, reception and enhanced caller ID does not work. When calling Uniden it states if this does not work I should purchase another type of telephone with a different code that may work.

Rating: - * Expandability, even on discontinued base station (TRU8885) ...
I have been using the TRU885-2 system for a little over 4 years now and can defiantly say that it is one of the most versatile and feature rich cordless phone systems I've ever used. First of all, the system is very easy to setup and begin using. Calls come through crystal clear and all of the handsets sync their date/time information with the base unit. In addition, you can "direct connect" from phone to phone if you need to reach someone else in your house. Finally, we've used the room monitor feature in a pinch when our daughter was sick but too old for the baby monitor.

We decided to expand to two additional handsets about two years ago. The TRU8885 line had been discontinued but I was pleased to find that the newer Uniden TCX905 handsets worked just fine with the older base system! What fantastic optionality for the future!

In short, these have been great products and I highly recommend them.

Rating: - * TCX905 & TRU9485 disappoint ...
These units are a major disappointment. The handsets frequently went dead, and when they did work there was static. Uniden technical service told me it was because my house is too big and because I have a wireless router for our computers. In addition, I found their website technical help not too helpful. Although the wait on their telephone technical service is long, at least they tried to be helpful, although ultimately they were not much good as I still have a base set and eight other handsets that drive us crazy with static and/or dead phones.
