Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * Works great BUT poor Editing on disc! ...
This recorder is great so far (had it 2 weeks).Picked up all digital stations. However, whoever built the editing feature into the recorder musta been "someplace else" when he/she set it up.
Try putting a name of the recorded movie when editing. It is almost impossible to do.Stupid! I have another Toshiba unit that is over 3 years old and it can be edited soooo much easier. So i hope they get a new person to program the editing!!!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * good product ...
It's a good product and has all the features I'm looking for, burn DVD and watch cable TV. For those who complained the picture quality from the turn, you may try to set different video format to pick a better one. The default produce much worse picture quality. After I change to rgb format, it looks much better.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - * Possible defective product ...
The DVD playback was great. However, the digital tuner had a tough time locking into my digital cable channels. The picture quality was far inferior to the TV tuner and DVR. I may have had a defective product. It was returned for a full refund (GREAT SERVICE!)but a replacement was not in stock.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Toshiba DR560 Good deal. ...
I didnt believe the low price would yield a decent machine. But so far so good.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - * It's good enough! ...
For the price it's excellent, though as many have said here, it would benefit from some refinement. It's frustrating that digital channels take so long to flick through, but I think that's a general issue with the system, not this recorder. Yes the menu could be better, and the recording quality is pretty good. So if your VCR is dying (which mine did!) or you want to use this as a digital TV decoder (which I do) then it's well worth the money - until cheaper BluRay recorders come out in a couple of years. Till then, this will do fine.

On her eighth studio album, Damita Jo--the title lifted from her middle name--Janet Jackson teams up with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis once again on what is perhaps the most feverish album in her two decade long career. Whether she's taking the listener on a torrid excursion in the four song island suite, or boasting of her sexual prowess on "Sexhibition's" word games lyrics, where she tells fans "relax, it's just sex," the singer tries hard--maybe too hard--to establish herself as a sexual avatar with portfolio. But in "Strawberry Bounce," she seems more like a pole dancer in stilettos than a social revolutionary, as she catalogs the way she plans to make her inamorato lose control, and she just sounds silly on "Moist," which extols the female orgasm. Instead, the best moments on the album are when Jackson comes off as saucy and winsome instead of a heavy breather, like on the down-tempo "Thinkin' Bout My Ex," her collaboration with Babyface, which seems lifted right out of her autobiography, and on the athletic Prince clone "Just A Little While." The title track is Jackson's own version of J-Lo's "Jenny On the Block," and she sounds just as insincere as Lopez when she tried to convince us that she was just an ordinary neighborhood diva. Instead, Janet’s much more persuasive when she joins up with hip-hop savant Kanye West on "My Baby," pairing her breathy, little girl vocals to his sharp, focused rap. Then and only then does Damita Jo sound like love can actually trump sex. --Jaan Uhelszki
