Rating: - * A wonderful surprise! ... I must admit that I'm a plasma fanboy who in the past thumbed my nose at lcd tv's. Recently I had a direct lightning strike on my home that fried four tv's, a microwave and garage door opener. I replaced our media room tv with a newer updated 50" Panasonic plasma (TH-50PZ85U) which is fantastic...and for the downstairs livingroom and master bedroom I chose 32" LG Plasmas (very good but no match for the Panny) and then came the dilemma for the kids room and guest bedroom...can't justify large sets or too expensive so I decided to bite the bullet and go with 20"-26" lcd's. After deciding on this Samsung based on generally favorable reviews I ordered two (shipped lightning fast by Amazon/UPS) and imagine my surprise when I found that the picture quality/features were actually above and beyond what I was expecting! These sets are very thin and light..minimalist bezel and stand with attractive black gloss. The colors out of the box were a little off but with just a few minutes of tweaking I had the sets looking very good...and not just "good for an lcd". The only cons with this set are pretty minor...the remote feels kind of cheap and is not backlit..but is laid-out well and has buttons for every function. Also another con is the speaker quality...it isn't what I would call bad by any means but a little below average even compared to other lower cost flat screen tv's. Overall I am very satisfied with not only the tv's but also the great price/fast shipping from Amazon. I haven't converted to an lcd man yet, but I no longer fear them. Kudos Samsung! Rating: - * Samsung 22\" television 720p LCD ... Arrived quickly. Television in good packaging and without any damage. Great quality picture especially in the HD channels. Good size for smaller bedrooms. Rating: - * Great Value for a small HD TV ... We were looking for a TV for our new three season room. We looked for a white TV with high quality HD. A year ago, we bought a smaller white Samsung for our Kitchen / Dining room and love it. We have cable TV and these sets pick up the local channels in HD without a cable conversion box. This is a great set for our room. Rating: - * Great picture and price. ... Bought this for a spare bedroom and it is the perfect size for the room. Picture is clear and it hooks up to a pc very easily. It is extremely light and a great price. Found it at the local store and it was $499 plus sales tax of about $35 so this was a great deal. The only trouble I had was getting it to scan all the cable channels but I am sure that it is nothing that reading the manual wouldn't fix. Rating: - * tragedy ... Bought this tv and had it at home for 31 days before it developed a solid yellow vertical line. I Called Samsung and they told me to bring it to the official repair shop. After 2 weeks I called the shop - the tech is out the part is on order. A couple weeks later I called the shop - the tech is out the part is on order. A week later I called Samsung and they were shocked - shocked I tell you - to hear the shop had the set so long. they called the shop and later that day the shop called me. They forgot to order the part - ha ha ha! The TV had now been in the shop longer than it was in my home. They asked me if I was willing to wait for the part which should take less time than an exhange...I should have gone for the exchange, but I let them order the part. Now it is two weeks and a day later for a total of about 7 weeks and I called Samsung again. They called the shop and learned that it was repaired 8 days ago and they didn't call me because they only call on saturdays (ha ha ha) and the Magical "caller" guy was out. What a disaster. I kind of expect the tv to develop other problems now just so I can have the joy of taking it back to this shop....yippeeeee...whatever you do, do not buy Samsung. |

Where the NBA Dynasty series (the other initial entry is the slightly meatier Los Angeles Lakers: The Complete History) outdoes Ultimate Jordan is in the six playoff games--one for each year--as they were originally broadcast, minus halftime and commercials. Having the nearly complete game (usually running 90-100 minutes, from the TV introductions to post-game interviews) means you can skip straight to John Paxson's clutch basket or what was expected to be the final shot of Jordan's career. Or you can savor each game in its entirety, all the better to appreciate the artistry of Jordan in his three-pointer barrage against Portland or his "flu game" against Utah. You can see other great players too, of course, including Jordan's teammates--Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman--and those opponents unfortunate enough to face the Bulls--Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Karl Malone, and others. Because these are all NBA Finals games, you won't see Jordan's shot over Craig Ehlo or his 63-point coming-out party against Boston, but the 1990s Chicago Bulls were a team for the ages, and merely having their games--some of them all-time classics--available for home viewing is a major milestone in archived sports. --David Horiuchi

While last-minute heroics tend to be the standard by which we define excellence, there are many other moments that have left an indelible impression, many of them highlighted here. The video clips fall into 10 categories: Dunks, Alley-oops, Assists, Steals, Blocks, Teamwork, the Clutch Shot, Moves, Hustle, and Buzzer-Beaters. At the beginning of each section is a brief introduction. Before showing the top 10 dunks of all time, for example, we learn about the evolution of the dunk--from the first slam to the man who could fly, Michael Jordan--and we hear background commentary from NBA legends such as Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Dr. J, and Bill Russell. This video recalls familiar moments of NBA lore that you will want to own for countless repeat viewings. --Jeremy Storey
