Rating:  - * Halfway works ... The product does not automatically detect and switch imputs. Customer service was worthless. Besides that, this product works great. There doesn't seem to be any degradation of the picture quality. Rating:  - * AUTO switching doesn't work ... Unit will pass a signal to output port but will not auto-switch between a Toshiba HD-A30 or a Sony BDP-350 DVD player. Manual switching works okay but it's supposed to be automatic. Philips tech support confirms that some input devices will not work properly with unit. They don't know why and don't have a list of incompatible source products. They recommend returning for refund and buying a different brand. It might work with your components, it might not. I would avoid buying this product. Rating: - * Finicky ... would recognize xbox 360 but not my PS3, both set on 1080i would only work 480p i was unimpressed Rating: - * OK, but ... As in other reviews I saw on various HDMI switchers that were supposed to be AUTOMATIC, you can generally expect to have to get out of your comfortable chair or couch to manually switch ports. Other than that, it does work, and was quite a bit cheaper than some of the more expensive that had the same shortfall of AUTO being more effectively MANUAL. Rating: - * Signal Switcher or Blocker??? ... This item was purchased to connect DirecTV HD and Toshiba DVD HD to a Panasonic HDTV that has only one HDMI input. Having read the previous review regarding the DirecTV signal I used cables that I know were good and positioned the devices in every possible position and even with just one device at a time plugged into slot 1 I could never get a signal through the switch Two days after receipt it was returned and I'm waiting for a refund. |
