Rating: - * A good item for young people ... I have several adult children spread all over and not a one of them have a land-line phone. I find that this is pretty common now, especially with the under 30 set. Since they tend to move often and they ALL have cell phones, many of them do not have a conventional land-line phone. The problem with this is: * Since they use their cell phone for every call their bill can be very high * If they lose their phone or if it runs out of power, you have no way of reaching them, even if they are at home * If they have several members in one house and you want to just call anyone who is at home you have to call everyone's cell phone, hoping that they are there However, all of my sons (and I would guess most of the under 30 group) have highspeed internet connections in their home or apartment. This is a great item for them. I gives them the befefits of a "house phone" with out having to go old school and get a land-line. I gave this unit to one of my sons and they are very happy with it. Maybe a good going-back-to-school present for those away at college. Rating: - * Works great, easy to set up ... Here's what I found: It's easy to set up if you have any computer literacy at all (If you can send an email, you can set this up. Rocket science it's not.) Takes just a few minutes. It works REALLY WELL. Audio quality was BETTER than my (former) AT&T analog phone line. No stuttering, echoes, delay issues, or anything like that. Called party heard me just fine, I heard them just fine. Calls are connected fast, seem to take about the same time to connect as placing a call on the regular old phone system. Features are good. I like having the option of getting my voicemail cc'd to my email account. In my case this thing will pay for itself by Thanksgiving. Even if the company goes out of business in a year, I'll still be over $1000 ahead! Can't beat that. Someone wants to hand me a thousand bucks in a years' time, I'll take that any day. I have a cable modem for my broadband Internet access, and so I have a lot of bandwidth. (16 mb/s down and 4 mb/s up, from Comcast in Chicago) - I've been paying close to $100/mo in AT&T phone bills FOREVER and I only make calls within about a 50 mile radius- AT&T has gotten TOO MUCH of my dough! I have to admit, however that AT&T's landline phone service has been very reliable. But onward and upward! I have deleted my analog line and now use ONLY my Ooma and cellphone. Rating: - * Great Product! Works as Advertised! ... I bought the Ooma hub and scout a few days ago and have been very happy with their performance. After registering online, it took about 5 minutes to hook them up and I had no problems - I didn't even need the instructions, it's that easy. If you are techno-illiterate, or have an overly complicated network setup, the instructions are fairly comprehensive and easy to follow. Once connected, the units worked well with my DSL service and the call quality was great. The hub and scout are well made and very sleek, almost Apple-esque (especially the packaging), and they look good sitting on the kitchen counter. The physical interface is simple and intuitive and the online features are a great perk. I have no complaints and would recommend Ooma to anyone looking to replace a land line system. Rating: - * Works as promised! Highly Recommed. ... I just installed my OOMA about 2 weeks ago. At that time I paid $249.00 for same package. It works amazingly well. Until we give everyone the new number for our ooma I just foward all calls from bellsouth to my new ooma number. In a few weeks I will discontinue my regular land line altogether. I have it plugged into my Dlink DIR-655 with QOS enabled. I havent noticed any problems while downloading and talking on phone at same time. I also have a HP mulitfunction printer/fax and have used the fax several times. I have the fax and the panasonic multi-handset cordless both plugged into the ooma using a splitter that came in box. If they were not each other i could have used the scout to connect either of these items. The voicemail works well. I have not complaints. We do not use second line feature since that necessitates the premier subscription of $5 a month. Our goal which i achieved was to eliminate my phone bill.. I was more worried about the viablity of the company until they responded with this new pricing and including the hub AND a scout. Now hopefully people will see the value. Rating: - * Works well, relatively easy to hook up, good customer support ... This phone, once hooked up, works very well. It is not exactly as good (most of the time) as a land line but pretty damn close. Plus you can buy, through OOMA, excellent rates for international calls. If you make many international calls this feature alone will pay for the machine in no time. The machine has a built in answering machine that works quite well. Plus you can use the web to check for messages when you are away from home. With respect to hooking it up, the instruction manual is easy to read and the process is quite easy. 15 - 30 minutes tops, depending on how technically savvy one is. You do need to hook up phone to this and if the phone has a built-in answering machine it must be deactivated before hooking up. In many cases this is not easy. Buying a cheap $10 - $15 phone without such a feature, however, is easy to do and eliminates this problem. Last but not least, OOMA's technical support is quite excellent. You can actually get through to a human who can provide useful device that any layman can follow. |

The story is pointedly set in the late 1980s, years before the establishment of the WNBA, so Monica's prospects for pro ball lie exclusively in Europe, while Quincy steps into the pros at home. It's a pleasure to see a character as passionate and fully developed as Monica, and Lathan gives a fiery portrayal (she had never played ball before the film, but you'd never tell from her performance). Prince-Bythewood favors her struggle over Quincy's and opens our eyes to her unique challenges with a sharp, savvy contrast. Alfre Woodard costars as Monica's harping mom (always trying to get her to be more ladylike) and Dennis Haysbert is Quincy's philandering father. Hoops fan Spike Lee produced. --Sean Axmaker
