Rating: - * Pleased ... I love the Kodak all in one, But I did find like many others, that the software was hard to get installed.. had to go online and download new software and it didn't install totally right, but everything on the Printer works fine. The ink is so much better priced and easy to live with, Makes great Pictures as well. So I would recommend the Kodak 5300 with just a small heads up about the software. Rating: - * AMAZING Printer! ... The Kodak EasyShare 5300 Printer I purchased is amazing! I can't believe the quality of prints it puts out. The printer is a little noisy when it starts up, but the noise is well worth it when you see the results! Also, documents print QUICKLY and use VERY LITTLE ink in the "Draft" Setting. How can you go wrong with the price of the ink cartridges? I have printed over 500 pages and am not even half way thru the first $10 Black Ink and $15 Color ink cartirdges. Such a great machine, I will be purchasing one for my son when he leaves for college! Rating: - * NOT EASY>>>>>NOT CHEAP>>!!!!! ... I don't usually write bad reviews. Often I use Amazon reviews as a way to gauge what I will buy even if I choose to buy in the store instead of Amazon. I bought my Kodak easy share after finding out that my old Lexmark all-in-one didn't work on my new MAC (programing issue). Cheaper ink touted on an in-store ad lured me in...I go through a lot of ink and usually get my cartridges refilled. As For the Kodak Easy Share it is not Easy: 1. Scanning-Doesn't work well, if at all. I had trouble scanning. I thought it was just me, but no, there seem to be many others out there. 2. Color - orange prints pink. New printer cartridges didn't help. So much for the True Colors slogan. 3. Cartridges go fast- Kodak's Ink cartridges may be cheaper, but I seem to go through them much, much faster than my old printer!! 4. Doesn't print on specialty paper- I love to print my own scrapbook and craft accents and often use my printer to make gift books/albums etc. but was unable to print on vellum. When talking to customer service, I did speak to an American speaking Amercan (YEAH!!), but she told me that the printer did not accept specialty papers. (photo, sticker, and plain paper only) 5. Don't even think about odd sized paper!!- Sometimes I like to use scraps to save on my expensive specialty papers. No go on the Kodak. I finally got it to work after almost an afternoon of making up custom size paper settings. I will be replacing this with another Lexmark if I can find one for a MAC. Right now I am printing off of the kodak and copying it onto my old Lexmark that is in the back room attached to my old PC. I have bought cheap Lexmark for years and they do many things that the expensive printers do. They only seem to last a year or two depending on use, but I am referring to their cheapest models only. I have had little trouble with them and they usually work very well for me for a time, BUT I print like a maniac also. Ink isn't that expensive, and you can have it refilled on-line by Max Patch ink for almost the same as you could buy a kodak cartridge. Do not buy a Kodak printer! Rating: - * So Far So Good ... I just recieved this Kodak 5300 AIO last week. I read all the reviews on here before purchasing it. It was super easy to set up and get going. Ive had no trouble so far with printing, scanning or copying. The only thing Ive noticed different that the other all-in-ones Ive owned is this one is pretty noisy, but it doesnt bother me. I know alot of people on the reviews said they had trouble with the print head. So far so good. I was really worried about having troubles but so far its been great. I've always owned a HP all-in-one and loved them. My last one went out on me for no apparent reason so I ended up purchasing a Epson all-in-one that was set up to even scan negatives. I loved that feature of the Epson but it didnt last no time, just a little over the warranty so I started searching for and reading reviews on all different all-in-ones before actually purchasing the new Kodak 5300 AIO. Im hoping this is the last one I have to buy for several years. Time will tell, if anything changes I will be back to update my review. I would buy this again in a heart beat. As I was signing in to write this review I did notice that the price has went down from what I paid $110.00 to $89.00 but I got the Free shipping on a order over $25 and they dont have that now on the $89.00 price. Rating: - * You'll want to kill this thing ... Seriously, how did this thing make it onto the market? It's seriously so backwards. If ONE ink cartridge is out, you can't do anything, even scan!! If the color ink is out, you can't even print with the black ink cartridge in black and white. And the print head on this printer has crapped out on us a number of times!! It occasionally prints a good photo, but it's not worth it. I've given up calling Kodak to have it replaced. Save your time, money and sanity - spare yourself from buying this devil of a contraption!! |
