Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great Product...Should Come Standard ...
As with most companies, Directed Electronics gives us a product that does not work well without an upgrade. So here we are buying extra equipment that should come standard. Does that say something about the world we live in? Consumerism run rampant. Oh well, this antenna works excellent. Where I live, there is no signal from ground and I was constantly having to climb to the peak of my roof to reposition the little antenna that came standard. With this one you will never have to do that again. It sends out it signal very strong and you will have good reception on your unit. At least I don't have to deal with those incessant commercials that you get with FM, TV, looking out your car windows. Didn't think you were gonna get some philosophy with this review, did ya.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Excellent solution.... ...
This is the second time I have ordered this antenna due to the fact that the first one work so wonderfully. I have many tall trees next to the house and needed a solution to at least provide constant two bar reception. Both antennas, one for the family room the other installed on a tree for the deck entertainment system, provide excellent reception for an older SB4000 Sirius receiver. The footprint is small and the mounting hardware is more than adequate to provide a stable platform. I would highly recommend this product if you are in need of satellite reception for your Sirius home solution.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * WOW I love this antenna! ...
This is a mus if you get poor reception at your home. Before I bought the antenna would get only one bar most of the time. With this one it is a full bars all the the time. It is also very easy to mount. If you have Sirius and want the best reception buy this antenna........

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Solid Value ...
Works just like advertised. Well built, received product in just 48 hours, quality A-1. If you need an outside antenna for your Sirius you couldn't ask for more and at a very reasonable price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Superb Strong Signal Solution ...
I finally got tired of non-100% reception after two years. I initially started out with my old Dot Micro indoors, then soon after moved to the "pie plate" method (to supposedly increase the "ground plane" to help with reception). After about a year of having to move it back and forth every few hours I moved it outside. Unfortunately the only practically reachable part of the roof faces the wrong direction. This improved signal some but it would still waiver often and cut out enough to still be annoying.

I recently located a somewhat accessible part of the roof with a pipe that would provide a much better view of the sky, so I went ahead and sprung for this antenna and an extension cable. It was a bit of an adventure doing the install (mainly the making sure not to fall off part), but in the end it has definitely been worth it. I have yet to see the signal strength meter waiver one single time off of 100%.

This antenna appears to be rather well hardened against the elements. People have reported problems over time with the Dot Micro so I'm glad to not be relying on that anymore.

The word Baraka means "blessing" in several languages; watching this film, the viewer is blessed with a dazzling barrage of images that transcend language. Filmed in 24 countries and set to an ever-changing global soundtrack, the movie draws some surprising connections between various peoples and the spaces they inhabit, whether that space is a lonely mountaintop or a crowded cigarette factory. Some of these attempts at connection are more successful than others: for instance, an early sequence segues between the daily devotions of Tibetan monks, Orthodox Jews, and whirling dervishes, finding more similarity among these rituals than one might expect. And there are other amazing moments, as when sped-up footage of a busy Hong Kong intersection reveals a beautiful symmetry to urban life that could only be appreciated from the perspective of film. The lack of context is occasionally frustrating--not knowing where a section was filmed, or the meaning of the ritual taking place--and some of the transitions are puzzling. However, the DVD includes a short behind-the-scenes featurette in which cinematographer Ron Fricke (Koyaanisqatsi) explains that the effect was intentional: "It's not where you are that's important, it's what's there." And what's here, in Baraka, is a whole world summed up in 104 minutes. --Larisa Lomacky Moore

The tricky topic of interracial romance gets a sexy, charming, and unexpectedly realistic treatment in Something New. Kenya (Sanaa Lathan, Out of Time, Alien Vs. Predator), a successful accountant, gets set up on a blind date with Brian (Simon Baker, The Ring Two)--only to discover that he's white, leading her to cut the date short. At a party, Kenya admires the garden and gets introduced to the landscape architect: Brian. Thus begins a bumpy but increasingly sparky relationship, despite opposition from Kenya's friends and family, as well as Kenya and Brian's own internal resistance. Make no mistake, Something New is a mainstream romantic comedy, with ridiculously attractive people grappling with problems that get solved with just a little too much ease--but along the way, Kriss Turner's script, Sanaa Hamri's direction, and Baker's and especially Lathan's performances ground the movie in something resembling the real world. Kenya's and Brian's emotional terrain has a genuine texture to it; the rhythm of the dialogue and the visual pacing allows their characters to breathe and become more genuine and vivid than your standard rom-com lovers. The strong supporting cast--including Alfre Woodard (Crooklyn), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Mike Epps (Next Friday), and Blair Underwood (Full Frontal)--doesn't hurt. But Lathan owns the movie; this actress deserves true stardom. --Bret Fetzer
