Customer Reviews

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - * excellent player but not if it breaks and you meet customer service ...
The sound quality and feel of the player are excellent. However after 4 months of light use and no accidents, the LCD screen developed a crack. Player still worked but since it was under warranty, I followed the awkward customer service rules and shipped it to their Irvine service center ... to receive a bill from an Ebay address telling me to send on over $67. No warning that they would bill me even though they already knew the problem (and that it is impossible for a customer to prove they didn't mistreat the player), no explanation. Other reviewers have had the same problem.

Things break and I can take that. I would have preferred no warranty, rather than this inconvenient charade. COWON please take note.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great sound ...
An audiophile's delight. paired with Sennheiser's CX300s I have enjoyed a few hundred hours of music on this unit - VERY happy with the sound it produces. Kinda has some issues with firmware (difficulty with playlists) but overall is user-friendly and easily navigated. Hopefully Cowon will straighten out their interface or Rockbox will be released soon - even if they don't I'm happy to have it.
Also bought a Noreve case to go with - sleek little package that I have dropped while bicycling - NO DAMAGE!!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Wow... ...
This is an AMAZING device...simply no words to describe how great this digital player is. I had a Cowon X5 for about 4 years until its battery started to last only 30 minutes (this is an innate flaw with lithium ion batteries not a fault of the device itself, it was still running smooth after all that time!).

So I stay loyal to Cowon, and they have rewarded us with this gem.

Pros:

-Cowon still produces (along with Sony) the best sounding music players. The JetEffect enhancements rival my Creative sound card.
-Touch screen will be a love/hate affair for people...I LOVE it.
-Video is great and works wonderfully. Won't be watching Lord of the Rings on it, but its nice to have for long plane rides.
-Picture viewing couldn't be better. Forget your phone for showing pictures.
-FM radio
-Voice/line in recording
-SD Card for additional storage (in theory unlimited)
-SMALL! I couldn't believe how tiny this thing is.
-Battery LIFE. I don't know what drugs Cowon put this thing on, but it will last FOREVER without charging. Of course I'm comparing to a 4 year old X5 which barely turned on before it lost battery life.
-Many more to name here!

Cons:

-Interface when finding music can be tricky, but I'v only had it a few hours so might be a learning curve.
-Only 4 GB of internal memory. For me this isn't a con, but some people will complain of the need to use SD cards to add more. But considering how small the thing is...
-No wifi/bluetooth...but what player has this now?
-Really nothing else.

150 dollars. Get this player.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great! A cheap and reliable iPod Touch ...
The touch screen is great, and, while I don't use the stylus, it's nice to know I have it (I haven't taken the plastic off of the screen yet, but once I do, I know I'll smudge it without that stylus.) The USB charger is great, although I haven't had to charge it yet in the first week. The 4 gigs of space isn't as much as I'd hoped, but I plan to purchase a few SD cards to make up for it (which it supports). Definitely worth it's price. No problems with it at all, except there's no way to store the stylus on the device. I've knotted mine to the headphone wire, which isn't desirable.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - * Don't by Cowon products... ...
I have been thoroughly disappointed with their products and lack of customer service. They average about 2-3 weeks to return an email for customer service issues. I finally got through to a representative and was advised to send the product back to them, at my own expense and they emailed back about 1 month later stating that there is no problem with the item. When I emailed back with a detailed description of the specific situation I encountered (item stopped powering on or charging through the USB port) they ceased communication. I still haven't heard back from them, but will never buy their products ever again. They are terrible both at manufacturing and caring for their customers.

For those who haven't noticed (a group that apparently includes millions of Americans), the sport that we call soccer and the rest of the world calls football is big. Very big. And no one is bigger than Real Madrid, the subject of Real - The Movie. This is the soccer equivalent of the New York Yankees, a rich, perennially successful club that features many of the biggest stars in the world; as of 2005, when the film was released, players included England's David Beckham and Michael Owen, Brazil's Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, Portugal's Luis Figo, and France's Zinedine Zidane (who notoriously head-butted an Italian opponent in the 2006 World Cup final). All of them can be seen in the quasi-documentary sections of the film, as Real prepares for a climactic match against rival Barcelona. Scenes of the players practicing, the coaches strategizing, and the match itself are well done, with crisp cinematography, occasional use of animation and other effects, and an overall kinetic feeling well suited to the sport. But director Borja Manso also wants Real - The Movie to explain to the uninitiated just what it is that makes Real such a big deal all around the world. To that end, he incorporates several personal (and fictional) stories: A Tokyo schoolboy distressed over his girlfriend's shrieking obsession with Beckham. A young Madrid history teacher who doesn't understand Real mania, and his neighbor, an elderly woman who's been unable to return to the stadium since her husband passed away. A Senegalese kid dying to go to soccer school. A teenage girl in New York who suffers a severe leg injury during a match and finds inspiration in Ronaldo's rehabilitation after a similar incident. Pretty standard stuff, by and large, and way too on-the-nose to be very compelling. Combine all of that with some newsreel footage from Real's early days and lots of throbbing, thrilling music, and it all amounts to a big, glossy valentine packaged as wholesome family fare. Nothing wrong with that--unless you're a Boston Red Sox fan. --Sam Graham

The Olsen twins are turning 16, and they're celebrating with this collection of party games and, you guessed it, driving lessons. The good news is that if you can help them get past the obstacles and pass the test, they'll take you out with their new driver's licenses to a variety of fun minigame activities, like rock climbing, riding Jet Skis, surfing, ATV quad racing, and shopping for clothes. Earn points in the party games and spend them to upgrade the car and unlock cool tunes and cooler outfits.

It's not very often that a game aims to be fun and realistic while instilling a sense of personal involvement and responsibility. Mary-Kate and Ashley: Winners Circle does that within the theme of horseback riding. Players compete in such equestrian events as dressage, jumping, and cross-country, and learn the basics of caring for a horse. The game offers a practice mode, which lets riders master the controls and explore a course before entering events, and an adventure mode with large forest and island levels where players can play minigames or just simply explore.
