Rating: - * stopped working @ 6 months ... When we first got this dvd player we were really happy with how it worked. The swivel screen, which closes to make the buttons inaccessible to button-crazed two-year-old fingers, was great! The picture was big and bright and the battery worked better than expected and the whole thing was pretty light and easy to take on the road. But there is nothing more maddening and disappointing than shoddily built gadgets. And the speed with which this dvd player kicked the bucket is astounding. I would strongly discourage someone from buying this dvd player unless they are fully prepared to buy another soon thereafter. Rating: - * Very good for the price ... All sorts of accessories are included- compatible in the car- makes road trips with the kids bearable! Rating: - * no picture ... I bought the coby dvd player and loved it at first but after only using it for a short while, the picture no longer worked. There is sound, but the screen remains blank. It works fine as a dvd player if hooked up to the television but it can no longer be used as a portable dvd player. I was extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, it broke shortly after the warranty period ended so I am stuck with it. Rating: - * JUNK + UNWILLINGNESS TO STAND BY PRODUCT = AVOID ... I purchased this Coby product for my brother-in-law and his family for their one and half year old for Christmas 2007. Before the end of the spring of 2008, the screen stopped working. Not only was I disheartened to learn the product only had a 90 day warranty - Coby refused to repair or service the product and gave the "up yours" attitude to my in laws. Due to the fact this product is poorly constructed, and parts, as in our case, can fail within 5 months, and the unwillingness of the manufacturer to stand by their product, avoid purchasing this product or other Coby products. Rating: - * Portable DVD Player w/Swivel Screen ... This was a gift for my 70 year old brother who has vision problems and he thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread! |
