Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Wonderful printer ...
The printer arrived in seven days with free super saver shipping and we started using immediately.

The setup was easy and took very little time. It warms up quickly, prints fast, and the photo copies are excellent. I really like the option of using the front or back paper loader and the little window on the printer lets you know what's happening while you're printing.

I'm not terribly computer savvy nor good with setting up things, but this really was easy and I'm very happy I bought this printer last weekend.

I highly recommend this printer.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great Printer, Great Price ...
I managed to buy under a hundred dollars and have been very happy with the product. I had an Epson before, which eventually failed from clogging issues. I bought a new AIO Lexmark, but could not get it to print for some reason though it would scan and copy (I tried customer support, which was utterly unhelpful). I swore off buying from those two companies ever again. I was losing hope in any printer manufacturer until I found this. Set-up perfectly with no problems and print quality is great for simple home use. Scans faster than my Epson or Lexmark did, and better quality in my opinion. I like that this printer has a flat top (I tend to be a bit haphazard and pile things on top of all kinds of equipment) so there are no "bumps" to make things roll off the top if I set them down on top of the printer. I love that I can feed paper from the front (as opposed to printers that usually make you feed from the back so you always have the paper feed guide sticking up and out collecting dust when not in use). This Canon lets you close everything up when not in use so it's easier to keep dust out of all the crevices and when it's time to print, just flip down the front panel and feed paper in from the front and close things back up when done. Much better design than most printers available in that respect. This printer has been everything I needed, and works great for me.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great printer! ...
I love this printer!! I had an old one for so long that didn't work right and so, I'm not sure if this is a great printer, but in my book, I couldn't have done better! The pictures that I've printed just on paper are great quality. I love that I can copy without turning on my computer. And my card making program is finally in working order (since I can now print out what I create). I would highly recommend this printer.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - * ink problems from the beginning ...
From the very moment I started the MP520 up, I had to re-insert the yellow ink well before it would print. Then it got to be two or three times before it would print. Two weeks later, and the magenta ink well acts up from time to time, and the yellow... well, I just spent 20 minutes re-inserting it and never could get it to work.

BUYER BEWARE, this printer is nothing but a headache! A printer that won't print is worse than the cheapest alternative out there.

The colors are also far too saturated for photographs (when you can get it to print, that is) on auto settings, with caucasian skin tones literally turning out red in anything but bright light. It's a real hassle to try to adjust the colors manually, and it's something I'm guessing most people buying this product won't want to do.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Everything I thought it would be ...
This printer is a Consumer Report's Best Buy. So far I like it. It seems very efficient on ink. Only time will tell, but so far so good.

The word Baraka means "blessing" in several languages; watching this film, the viewer is blessed with a dazzling barrage of images that transcend language. Filmed in 24 countries and set to an ever-changing global soundtrack, the movie draws some surprising connections between various peoples and the spaces they inhabit, whether that space is a lonely mountaintop or a crowded cigarette factory. Some of these attempts at connection are more successful than others: for instance, an early sequence segues between the daily devotions of Tibetan monks, Orthodox Jews, and whirling dervishes, finding more similarity among these rituals than one might expect. And there are other amazing moments, as when sped-up footage of a busy Hong Kong intersection reveals a beautiful symmetry to urban life that could only be appreciated from the perspective of film. The lack of context is occasionally frustrating--not knowing where a section was filmed, or the meaning of the ritual taking place--and some of the transitions are puzzling. However, the DVD includes a short behind-the-scenes featurette in which cinematographer Ron Fricke (Koyaanisqatsi) explains that the effect was intentional: "It's not where you are that's important, it's what's there." And what's here, in Baraka, is a whole world summed up in 104 minutes. --Larisa Lomacky Moore

The tricky topic of interracial romance gets a sexy, charming, and unexpectedly realistic treatment in Something New. Kenya (Sanaa Lathan, Out of Time, Alien Vs. Predator), a successful accountant, gets set up on a blind date with Brian (Simon Baker, The Ring Two)--only to discover that he's white, leading her to cut the date short. At a party, Kenya admires the garden and gets introduced to the landscape architect: Brian. Thus begins a bumpy but increasingly sparky relationship, despite opposition from Kenya's friends and family, as well as Kenya and Brian's own internal resistance. Make no mistake, Something New is a mainstream romantic comedy, with ridiculously attractive people grappling with problems that get solved with just a little too much ease--but along the way, Kriss Turner's script, Sanaa Hamri's direction, and Baker's and especially Lathan's performances ground the movie in something resembling the real world. Kenya's and Brian's emotional terrain has a genuine texture to it; the rhythm of the dialogue and the visual pacing allows their characters to breathe and become more genuine and vivid than your standard rom-com lovers. The strong supporting cast--including Alfre Woodard (Crooklyn), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Mike Epps (Next Friday), and Blair Underwood (Full Frontal)--doesn't hurt. But Lathan owns the movie; this actress deserves true stardom. --Bret Fetzer
