Rating: - * Quick & Easy on a Mac ... The printer arrived, I installed the software on my iMac, the ink cartridges in the printer, selected the printer on my Mac and printed. Couldn't have been easier! Rating: - * Paper jams and limited functionality with PDF files ... This printer fit perfectly into a cubby in my computer desk, as long as I chose to use only the front paper tray. Frequent paper jams from the first day were just the beginning. Whenever trying to print an Acrobat PDF file, it claims to be "out of paper" until you pull the printer out, put paper into the rear tray, and press "Resume". Customer support said "This can be evident if the overall settings for the driver are used by most applications except the one in question". So it's Adobe's fault? PDF is when of the most common file formats on the planet and Canon couldn't write the driver to work correctly with Acrobat? Don't offer me two paper feed trays and tell me one won't work. Support went on to say that I would need to go into the Acrobat "print properties" and tell it (again, every time) to print from the front tray. This my first and last Canon printer. Rating: - * Good Printer ... I bought this printer for my mother in law and she loves it she has had no trouble with it at all. Its a little loud but prints very good and prints great photos. This is the third canon printer I have bought on Amazon 1 for me 1 for my daughter and 1 for my mother in law and we like them all very much. I won't buy another brand. Rating: - * Good........But! ... This printer works as advertised (as it should) however it takes entirely too long to print. Actually the time in printing is entirely acceptable, BUT the time from hitting the start print key until printing begins is very excessive. Printer makes every sound I have ever heard a printer make and when you think it is starting to print it starts all over again. and again. Rating: - * Easy does it ... I bought this printer about a month ago because I couldn't get my old Canon to work with my Vista computer. I got this model because it would fit on my crowded desk. I found it very easy to set up and was even able to use the plugs from my old Canon on this one, so I didn't have to do the "find the wire dance." It comes with a CD I haven't yet read, so I don't know all the bells and whistles, but it is doing quite adequate plain printing and is a bit faster than my S520. |
