Rating: - * Scan perfect ... The Canon Scanner has produced great images from both my slides and negatives. The software that came with the unit makes the entire process so easy. The unique top light changed my mind about flat bed scanners, scanning slides. I can scan 4 at a time and the software breaks them up into individual images. Really great. Rating: - * Cannon saves old 35mm negs ... By using this scanner and the Adobe picture software I am in the process of capturing 1000's of negs. Progress is much more organized and faster than copying 1 picture at a time with great clarity and sharpness. Rating: - * Nice Item ... Easy to set up and get started. Scanning is very fast, compared to previous experiences. I'd recommend this item. Rating: - * Great Scanner for Scanning Slides! ... Purchased the Canon CanoScan 8800F Color Scanner last week to convert many, many boxes of slides. All I can say is WOW. Didn't expect to be this impressed. The unit does everything the manufacturer says it will do and does it with ease. My scans look just like the original slides; nothing was lost. Rating: - * Great performance but room for improvement ... I purchased this product about a month ago primarily to scan hundreds of images currently in slide and print formats (using an Apple MacBookPro). My priorities were quality of outcome and overall user experience (including machine performance, ease of use and look & feel). For these priorities I was willing to compromise price and some capabilities or features (like those typically found in the all-in-one devices). I also compromised the number of slides per scan. I researched the market and compared devices and features, also ignored brand brainwash (from advertising or store clerks). Well, so far I am very satisfied with this purchase with one exception, the mechanical hinge that connects the document cover to the main body of the scanner wiggles (not tight enough) and I am worried this wiggle will worsen with time and use. This detail does not compromise the quality of the scanned images, it is just one of those annoying things that remind you that nothing is made perfect or to last forever. YOU CAN DO BETTER CANON, let your industrial design group oversee the entire user experience process including hinge design. |
